Making a Real Difference - Serving Communities in Indonesia Through CSR Consulting

Indonesia’s battle against plastic pollution and the quest for educational enhancement converge with Our Goals’ CSR projects.

We tackle waste management head-on while creating educational opportunities. Our Goals schools are built with innovative recycled plastic building blocks crafted by Finland’s Block Solutions.

For each recycled plastic school we create, the following Environment and Social Impacts are delivered.

  • Around 2.1 tons of plastic waste are removed from the local environment and repurposed into durable, resilient building blocks for every school built.
  • Additional composite materials are sourced locally to support the Indonesian economy and reduce environmental impact.
  • Blocks are manufactured in Lombok, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of production and transport compared to concrete construction methods
  • The schools constructed are designed to last a century and are earthquake-resistant compared to concrete schools. This is supported by the extensive research of Professor Ayman S. Mosallam, who concluded that block buildings offer a higher degree of safety.
  • Blocks are 3 times stronger than cinder bricks.
  • Bio-composite blocks are carbon negative.
  • Planting of trees – 150 planted in 2023.
  • Education on the local environment and the importance of protecting biodiversity.
  • Education on responsible waste management.
  • Rapid school construction within 1 week, aligned with SDGs 3, 8, 9, 11, 13 & 17.
  • Creation of employment opportunities for local people.
  • Free education for all students.
  • 50 students can attend school for each school constructed.
  • Classrooms with toys and a playground.
  • Proper toilet and handwashing facilities provided to teach children about hygiene and prevent the spread of disease.
  • English language teaching provided.
  • Provision of quality education for boys and girls with reduced inequalities, aligned with SDGs 1, 4 and 10.
